Sonar settings file location

Hi...

Which file remembers your individual Settings within Sonar? For example the settings for copy and paste, toolbar options, prv preferences folder location.. etc..

    Settings are stored in AUD.ini and Cakewalk.ini (in %appdata%\Cakewalk), HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\[sonar version\], HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\[sonar version\], HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432\Cakewalk Music Software\[sonar version\] and in some other places, too.

    aud.ini data and cakewalk.ini   is under your personal user, rather than all users?

    Yes, under personal user folder. Cakewalk.ini has almost nothing anymore. Aud.ini contains lots of audio hardware related settings. Most stuff is found in the registry.

    ok thanks... one more question

    So if there in the registry how does that effect the others using the same machine but using different usernames (at school)?

    LOCAL_MACHINE settings effect the other users but there are only a couple of settings there. Vast majority is in CURRENT_USER; making changes there will not disturb other users. APPDATA folder is C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\SONAR X1 Producer.
