Sonar upgrade from 6 to X1 - MIDI issues in tts-1

Hi everyone,
 
Apologies if this has been answered somewhere else, but I have searched the forums for 30 minutes and haven't seen anything like this.
 
 
I just upgraded from Sonar Producer 6 to Sonar X1 Producer.  I applied the X1a and X1b patches.  I haven't made any other changes.
 
When I open projects created in Sonar PE 6, Midi drums routed to the tts-1 drop out in a weird way.  Within a given clip a particular note will play sometimes but not others.  Sometimes the whole track drops out.  They seem to be dropping out the exact same way every time I play the file, even after closing and reopening the file or closing and reopening sonar.
 
I haven't had a chance to see if other softsynths are misbehaving, I usually only use the tts-1 just for scratch drums in demos.
 
I don't know if I am explaining this well, it is hard to describe.
 
Does anybody have any ideas or knowledge about this?

Go to Preferences > MIDI > Playback and Recording, and set the Prepare Using buffer to 500 if it's less than that. I believe X1 defaults to 250 where earlier versions defaulted to 500. A lot of systems have problems dropping notes with the smaller buffer.

If it's already at 500, try increasing it in increments of 100 until the problem goes away.
