Sonar v8.3.1 dont load all vst's

Hiya
I am using Sonar v8.3.1 on my new HP DV7 i7 64bit Win 7 pro laptop
have reinstalled Rapture and Dimention pro and they are ok now but
sonar still cant see Beatscape, Session Drummer, etc, have tried reinstalling but still does not see them, does anyone have any ideas to why, have checked and are in the correct folders.

Thank-you in advance

All the Best, Take care, Hubie-J

Isn't it the usuall to run Sonar as administrator that is missing?

I had to do that to get DP to work and load at all.

I always start Sonar with 'Run as administrator' on the modified shortcut.

    Hiya
Have run Sonar as administrator for missing vst but still no luck,
have notice that Reaper can see them and are working OK,
so why cant Sonar find them in Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins
    also in Program Files (86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins

If the dll are in those folders then go to the plug in manager and follow the instructions. I forget the exact procedure but it's fairly obvious. You should see them in a list to the left.

I found them by going to Tools>Cakewalk Plug-in Manager>VST Configurations>Options, then click add c:\program files(x86)\cakewalk\vstplugins, then scan, and they were there. Good luck!

    Hiya
I have delete the Plug-in Manage VST file references and added the
    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins and
    C:\Program Files (86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins
file references but Sonar still does not find them,

I thank-you all for your help BUT does any one have any more suggestions of what else I can do before Deleting Sonar completely and reinstalling it
which will take me a day or more to re-setup and apply all my preferences.

You keep repeating the same typo(two postings):

\program (86) which is not correct. There is no such directory.

\program (x86)\  is to be there though.

Are you saying the plug in manager is not working for you, I don't understand the problem at this point? Have you found the dll's for those plug ins. You need not re-install Sonar, if the plugs are missing just put the Sonar disk in and follow the menus to re-install the plug ins. They are separate from Sonar I believe.

    Thanks JonnyV
I have reinstalled all sonars vst's when I first had the problem
    Reinstalled Sonar 8.3.1 update
delete the Plug-in Manage VST file references and added
    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins and
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins
file references but Sonar still does not find Beatscape or Session Drummer2, all other plugins work ok except just those two.
I can see the Beatscape.dll and Session Drummer2.dll and Reaper loads them and work OK in Reaper but NOT seen in Sonar, could it be the Bitbridge.dll on this 64bit system?.

    Hiya Beagle
Sonar cant see Beatscape or Session Drummer VST Plugins, all other Plugins are OK.
I have reinstalled all of Sonars VST's Plugins when I first had the problem and
Reinstalled Sonar 8.3.1 update, I then went into  Pug-in Manager and removed
all the VST file references, Then added
    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins and
C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins, file references but Sonar still cantnot find Beatscape or Session Drummer2, all other plugins work ok except just those two.
I can see the Beatscape.dll and Session Drummer2.dll in Windows Explorer. They loads and work OK in Reaper but NOT in Sonar, could it be the Bitbridge.dll on this 64bit system?.

Hi, Hubie - I'm sorry, but I'm still not understanding why you removed "all the VST file references" in the Plugin Manager.  which file references did you remove?

it could be a bitbridge problem, but I'd look at other things first.

here's one thing I would try:  use windows explorer to navigate to C:\PROGRAM FILES\CAKEWALK\SONAR X1 PRODUCER and look for the plugin manager executable.  I assume it's still in that folder, but I don't know for certain because I'm at work and not in front of my DAW.  if it's not there, then search for it (and right now I don't even remember the exact file name)

then when you find it, right click on it and choose "ALWAYS RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" or something similar.

then try launching the plugin manager and scanning again.
