    I use a Firepod and X1, so I'll try to help :)

#1 Relates to making sure the Firepod is actually connecting to the computer properly, #2 - #5 is getting Sonar to recognize it.
    1. Is the Firepod Control Panel icon in the system tray (ie: near the clock at the lower right of your computer)
      • If not - this needs to load. Go to "Start > All Programs > Presonus > Presonus 1394 Driver xxx " and click on the "control panel" program in that location.
      • Once loaded - make sure the Firepod Control panel is connecting to the Firepod... If it says "no device" then it isn't connected. If it shows with a serial number - you are good to go.
    2. Open Sonar then press "P" to open the preferences. (you may have to open a project/song before pressing P)
    3. This should default to the Device page. Is the Firepod there? If so - put a check box beside every in & out you want available and click "apply". (NOTE: if there is another sound card listed as well as the Firepod - uncheck those boxes)
    4. Still in preferences, go to "Playback and Recording" and make sure the driver is set to ASIO.
    5. Still in preferences, go to "driver settings" and make sure the firepod is set as the "timing masters" for both playback and record.
    Apply and click OK...
The Firepod should now be available as inputs and outputs.

    I hope that helps...

Sorry for the late reply, I don't get around here to often anymore.
I'm on Windows 7 Pro, and use the latest drivers provided by Presonus.

So your saying that the Presonus Control Panel shows the Firepod but Sonar X1 is not showing it in it's "device list"? That would be very odd... I don't know if I have an answer or even a suggestion for that.

If the Firepod was not showing in the Presonus Control Panel then I would suggest it is not syncing. Mine died about 4 months ago (would not sync with the computer) and I had to replace a capacitor in the unit. Been working perfectly ever since (knock on wood).... But when that occurs, the light on the presonus stays red (not blue) and the Presonus Control Panel doesn't show anything in it's "active units" box.

Sorry, wish I could help more.
