Sonar x2 special What about those of us who don't get paid until the first of the month?

Dear Sonar I get paid on the first of the month when I went to buy x2 last month the special had expired!!!  So I allocated my money to other projects.  Then 2 weeks later you made an announcement extending again to "just short of the month's end"  What about those of us who get paid on the first that is when I allocate how I spend my money please extend this offer I did try to buy it.  But I don't use credit cards so if I don't have the cash I don't purchase things.  So I save and pay as I go.  Please respect us.

I would give customer service a call to see if they can let you purchase after the first of the month... http://www.cakewalk.com/About/contact.aspx

I am FREQUENTLY in the same boat.  I get paid on the 3rd every month, and I am constantly watching super duper dealios get posted and expire prior to ever getting a shot at purchasing.

Shoot, so I should have mailed them the beginning of this month, when I wanted to buy X2 Producer but found out I was just two days late for the 20% off deal. Now I am waiting again to get X2 with a nice deal... which may be months. I simply can't buy something when I have just missed a great offer LOL

Sonar 8.5 PE, Edirol FA-66, Behringer C-1. All instruments in my songs are VSTi's.

Not to be a wet blanket, but if things are so tight that you don't even have a credit card to float a purchase for a few weeks, you may want to reconsider a DAW software.

Anticipate these events and start a savings fund for them, adding a little bit to it each month, so you never get caught off guard.

I have always been broke, probably always will be, but seems they trust me with a line of credit at the bank. It's free and you don't need a credit card. But if you screw up it's like only 9% , credit cards are more like 20%/

My line of credit is $10,000 and costs some interest if I dip into it, but you could also consider getting an overdraft.

Mine is good for $500 & is just $4.00 a month and an extra $3.00 if I use it.

Well worth it for an emergency purchase or consistently missing out on a deal.

Otherwise, you guys that get paid late like the first week of the next month, you'd just simply have to think ahead one month or so.

Throw $5 - $25 a check into a Paypal account.  That way when something does come on sale you already have the funds set aside.

It's an upgrade to X2. That said, looking at your specs I wouldn't bother as CW say it will not work in XP.

To be accurate, Cakewalk does not support X2 on XP and X2a will not install on XP. There have been reports of users installing and running X2 on XP. The quickfix installs on XP but that is the end of the line for XP users. X2 users on XP should consider upgrading their OS to at least Win7 SP1. Anyone considering using X2 on an unsupported configuration should definitely consider downloading the demo first.

To be completely accurate, it depended what day it was and which CW employee you asked ;)

However they seemed quite definite that X2a, which contains a lot of "fixes" would not even load on XP because of the win 8 mods. There was the usual fingers in ears silence at the requests for a " just fixes" patch with no win 8 mods for those who took the on/off advice from CW and took the plunge with XP as there was no demo available at that time to try it first.

Guys Gals not all of us handle our accounts the same way.  I set goals based off of my play money  I have savings but buying hobbies  is not what it is for.  I allocate a certain amount of play money each month and within a few dollars I make choices between what I want for example I am going to get This upgrade but I also need to within a few months buy a case of reams of paper that I use for note taking artist skills stuff like that I read books and write out the important points.  Then I also plan to subscribe to course hero for my working papers for school so I have goals set up.  But I allocate an allowance and within that allowance I can do what I want.    Then I plan to answer tough questions put to musical rhythms using mathematica and maple words.  When I get done with that I will blog it provided it is decent!!!  I my mind thinks right some days but some days it won't

What is OP Orion Pro I have that its a nice startup made by one person.  I bought everybody before because I support all of the musical software makers.  But cakewalk is like buying a music store and a prostudio and the only software that is different really I would say would be Band in a box.  but I won't upgrade that for a while as With real tracks I support real musicians so until I have bought 30 cd's  by various artists I won't upgrade.  I refuse to replace working musicians so I have to allocate something to working recording artists.  Just me.

I wanted to update on this.  Scott I did call and was supposed to call back fortunately I was able to get it on June 30th so I am a proud owner of X2.  I also in the next few months will get your X2 book.  Thanks for putting the X1 on Safari Books I have been using the X1 but I think I will get the X2 book.  I have a question Why is it that Cakewalk in the X2 Pdf doesn't bookmark the chapters.  They have the links inside but not the chapters?  I discovered a javascript that will let you do that called pdfhacker you might want to include that in one of your future versions I don't know if it important to most people.  I like to access parts that I need fairly quickly in the flowing process so I always insert bookmarks in PDF if they aren't there.
