Sonar's CHANNEL TOOLS Vs Waves CENTRE - Whats up?

Hey all,

Doing some experimenting with Mid/Side processing and trying Waves Centre here.  I've set up a simple test.  Just 3 simple Piano samples.  All mono.  1st panned hard left, 2nd centred and 3rd panned hard right.

Now I have Channel tools and Waves centre on the master out for the test and switch between both.
I dropped the "mid" out of both plugs and compare the 2.
There is a big difference.
Channel tools kills the mid completely but waves still holds a lower end of the mid piano sample and it sounds centred on phones.

Now I'm not sure why there would be a difference in such a m/s simple test.  Can anyone demystify this for me?

Well there 2 different plugins, even though they have the possibility of doing some of the same things as one another.

I don't know if you can set both plugins the exact same way as there different from one another.
just use the one that does the best job for what you need.

hmmm so they must be interpreting m/s data differently.  Ok just curious why such a major difference.
