Sonar-M-Audio USB preamp-RTA mic-Waves/Sonitus plug-ins-Me and my guitar

http://www.4shared.com/au...kR2JS4/Dream_Flow.html

All done in Sonar Producer. The drums were programmed using cakewalks virtual synth that comes with Sonar. Guitar/Vocal recorded with JBL RTA (Analyzing Microphone) microphone. EQ and Compressors on inputs were Sonitus. I used a Sonitus Delay for the vocals. Waves Verb and master compressor. Waves Noise Reduction filter used to remove unwanted hiss on inputs.

This was recorded in a 1 bedroom apartment in NYC

    Quite an interesting listen.

Seems reasonable balanced though there are a couple of places where some bits over power the vocal. JMO.  I am sure there are greater minds/ears here than mine that will make other constructive comment.

The vocals are just scratch tracks for the demo... there are some pitch/level issues with them, but that will be worked out. I am not the greatest performer, mediocre at best and that doesn't help either. All in all I wanted to share the sound quality you can get by using a cheap preamp and cheap microphone in a non-studio space.

Oh and the bass track is actually just me playing the low end of my guitar so it's not even in the right octave but it works for demo purposes. I will add a synth and piano before it reaches it's time to be orchestrated.

Same song with Vocals Re-Recorded and entire mix filtered with Mastering style compression using a Waves C4
