While specs would certainly help, I can say that EWQL uses the Play engine and supports multiple Midi channels. Most soft synths do. So you only need to add a single instance to the Synth Rack and then map your instruments to the proper Midi channel and connect a Midi track to that channel. Adding a synth per track will certainly run you out of memory. You can even have Sonar create the Midi tracks for you at the same time, though I don't ever do that myself.
