Sonata no2.a Heart and Soul including mixed media work (animation, 3d modeling etc)

And now for my next trick, Sonata no.2a Heart and Soul. I decided to start experimenting with animation and 3d models for this piece. I've used Blender to animate a model of a skull, and a 3d scan of my head lol. This is all set to an experimental sonata written for cello, viola, oboe, pipe organ, vox, drums (EDM) and guitar. I've doubled the cello, viola and oboe using granular synthesis to create an orchestral soundscape. Oh...did I mention that I shot some footage of a graveyard at sunset for some beautiful images, which I've overlayed some of the crazy animation ideas.

Enjoy

Thanks David, as you can imagine it took a lot to create the piece. Almost 6 weeks of concentration and juggling disparate threads and themes. I learnt so much though, in regards to the possibilities of 3d...well everything. I've got some other crazy mixed animation real world av works in the pipeline...most notably and close to the visual stage is a cover of Harry Nilsson's Without You...not the Pariah Carrey version lol. I did a cover of this a few years ago, but I decided I could do much better now, and with crazy animation 😎

    Thanks Again

I liked it too. My favorite part was that fast stuff at the very end. Clever that, on the tombstones. Some of the more static long shots in the middle had my attention drifting away a bit. I was waiting for some jump scares!

Great graveyard footage. You are a very creative person to cook this up.

    cheers,

Thanks Tom. Yea I should have shot more footage, but I left too late that evening, that's why the middle felt a bit slow.

    Thanks Again
