Song for my daughter--reggae/pop

Hi all, I haven't been on in a long time.  There are some great songs on here.  Any way, I thought I'd post this song I wrote for my daughter's 9th birthday.  It's a quasi reggae/pop thing.  I tried to make it something she would like, and I had fun with it.  Hope you all like it.  Let me know what you think.
Thanks
Brad

It's called Bless The Child

Nice well-written song! I think it's got a strong melody.

On the production side, I personally would prefer a cleaner sounding guitar for the "skank". And I could do without the "robo-tune" artifacts, but that's just my personal taste. Anyway, good work and good on you for putting it out for all to hear!

I think auto tune should be a tool only available after you have reached a certain level in the video game.
Great tune, nicely done and you almost fooled me that you had this great voice until it hit the main title and oh oh, auto tune!
I bet you can sing it in tune. Give it a try.
Might be us old geezers here have a hate on for that sound and your daughter might think its super cool, dunno. Other than that I like the song and your playing,, you should add a cheesy organ!

Thanks for the listen folks.  Yeah I pitch corrected the vocals with V-Vocal here and there to fix some flat and sharp spots (cause I need that kind of help from time to time ).  I did the obvious auto tune thing because my daughter digs it.  To quote her, "it, I don't know, sweetens the sound or something."  I tried to keep it at a minimum, but I wanted her to dig the song.  I'm hoping she grows out of the auto tune phase.
I did try some other instrumentation, but didn't like any of it (due to limited musicianship talent).  A cheesy organ might be cool.

Nice tune... I like the island music ..... but please loose the auto tune. At sounds bad enough in rap and hip hop...

Bob Marley would be turning over in his grave if he knew you were auto tuning Reggae music... that genre is supposed to be herbal and organic....

But as he said, his daughter thinks auto tune is cool, We have a whole new generation who hear it and think it's a great idea, just like the overuse of any efx from the past,  each generation has their likes and dislikes, Somebody should have shot Sher for making it cool.  It seems the only people offended by auto tune are audio engineers and camp followers.
I personally cannot listen to a song that I notice auto tuning. So in the end it depends on who you want to enjoy your song. If your market is 9 years old then, turn it up to max!

Very cool – great vibe. Such a simple, direct and joyous feel to this. Love the bass – it’s got just a bit of edge, a nice punchy tone and it carries the tune along really well. Almost sounds like a live band that’s feeding off positive energy from the crowd. The auto-tune – well, I never like it on anything but I’ve gotten used to hearing it so I wasn’t creeped out. All in all, it’s one of those tracks that will always put a smile on your face. Great job.

quasi reggae? If this is quassi reggae, then Megan Fox is Quasi "hot"

Pretty cool. I would back off the auto tune a bit and use it maybe as an accent here and there.

Great tune.  Love that bass (I'm learning to play it now, so I notice it more than before.  lol)  The auto-tune doesn't bother me.  Especially if that's what she wanted.  This has a great vibe...happy and fun.  :-)

Great song and mix/production.  Love the percussion.

For better or worse, I hear so much AT these days that I've begun to like it

    +1 to the bass line.

I'm sure your daughter loves it and congrats on being such a good dad!

Thanks Janet, Chuck and Geeare1 for the listen and comments.  I was a little worried that the bass was a bit too.. busy, I guess.  Glad to hear that it works OK.
