Song "Overflow" version 2 up for critique, please
I took the couple of suggestions from my previous post and applied them to this version, and made the whole thing hotter. I know I want to tweak the lead guitar a bit right after the bridge, but would love to get more feedback on how to improve the song and/or mix. It's at the top of my song list via the link in my signature. Thanks.

Hey, Tom. Thank you. As I listen to it again, I still hear places for improvement. I plan on revisiting the whole mix this weekend and will repost it if I get a chance. Thanks again for listening.

Nice harmonies on this tune! Well executed and well played. I think if you added some harmony on the chorus around the 3:40, it would give you that 'fire for effect' vibe. I enjoyed this..
Slow Marching Band Win 7 x64, Sonar X1E x64, Studio One v2, Focusrite Saffire 24 DSP Pro, Genelec 8030a, True Systems P-Solo, Focusrite ISA One, FMR RNP, GAP-73. "Someone to watch over me".

I never heard version 1, but this sounds great to me! You've got a killer vocal range, and the background vox really fill the mix nicely (what's that cool effect you have on them? it really separates them from the lead which works great here). Very nice work on the drums & percussion. If those are "canned" drums, it's the best hihat I've ever heard.

Thanks for the comments, Larry. For the harmony suggestion, maybe you meant around the 2:40 mark since the song ends around 3:40? Are you referring to the chorus right after the bridge, where the background music breaks off? I was thinking of adding a harmony on the lead vocal every chorus, but not sure. Thanks for listening.

Very nice work on the drums & percussion. If those are "canned" drums, it's the best hihat I've ever heard. Thanks, Spaceduck. Background vox is four part harmony, each part doubled and nudged slightly at different intervals. Also, I put each part through V-Vocal to make sure the tuning of each note was correct, and adjusted the formant of each part slightly different while I was in there. The rest is careful panning and EQ. Oh, and some Vintage Channel thrown on the whole submix. Drums are EZ Drummer. I EQ'd and compressed to taste. I still want a little more snap in the snare. As for the vocals, I'd really rather someone else sing who can really sing, but I can't afford to hire anyone right now. Thanks again for listening and for your comments.

I also didn't hear the first one either, but this one sounds great. Not my genre, but it's a very well done tune, in terms of performance and production, very tight and it has a great groove.

Thank you, Dean. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, but thanks for listening, nonetheless.
