Song recorded in Sonar used in major movie trailer
This actually happened quite a while back but, it never dawned on me to share it here. Just thought fellow Sonar users might like to hear about it. The song is "On The Prowl" by The Paul Allens. It was used in the Red Band movie trailer for "Killer Joe" starring Matthew McConoughey, Emile Hirsch, Juno Temple, Gina Gershon, and Thomas Haden Church. By the time they got the song the film was already in the can so they couldn't get it in the movie itself. They did, however put it in the Red Band trailer, which is on every DVD sold, and can be seen on YouTube. Warning!!! Explicit language and some nudity in the trailer!!!I recorded the song in my home studio using Sonar. The Paul Allens were my Son's band at the time. He wrote it, sang it, and played guitar on it. Tragically, he was killed by a drunk driver in 2009. I know he would have loved the idea of this!! Just wanted to let everybody know, you CAN do things that get noticed with Sonar!!!! Here's the trailer.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7M12DPZgW_E Here's my original recording of the full song.... https://soundcloud.com/studiodude1/03-on-the-prowl

pinguinotuerto: Thank you. He was a very special soul. He was a professional musician and a professional rollerblader! He was only 24 years old when we lost him. Like I said, I know he would have loved the idea of his music being used in a movie trailer!

Hi rodreb
Sorry to hear of your loss, it was an unexpected end to your post.
I think the song and recording is excellent and in my view superbly suited to the trailer.
I am sure you are very proud.
All the best

This should be in the songs forum. However I think it should stay here. If it is moved please let me know and I will move it back.
