Bummers or Down'ers?

Amon Duul 2 would be the king of these ... check out "Apocaliptyc Bore" and "Mozambique" in the album "Vive La Trance" ... one is a goodbye to the old days that ends in a magnificent guitar/violin duet, and the other is a massive attack on the slavery thing in Africa and ... what became of it. It is by far, lyrically, the most vicious attack I have ever heard in any rock music anywhere. It's great music ... but the thought of the subject matter is almost a sizzling attack on the voluminous nothingness and **** that so much pop and commercial music is about

Nektar - The last song in the album "Recycled" ... was their last piece recorded together for many years. They were tired, burnt out, and sick and robbed and ... blown out. It is a lovely song, and so sad that it is very teary.

Sandy Denny/Fairport Convention -- "Rising for the Moon" album --knowing the situation makes it more ... sober'ing! But the song "One More Chance" was the last thing she recorded a couple of weeks before she died. The singing in it is magnificent but the fantastic duet with guitar and violin to augment the song makes the tears scream their way out to ... who knows ... and to top it off, in the remastered version there is a piano version/demo she did of the song that is unreal, even more scary and it's almost like she is afraid and scared. It's either a fabulous actress or one of the saddest things you will ever find, or admit to ... knowing that your time is up and it's here!

Peter Hammill -- "A Way Out"  from the album "Out of Water" ... makes you regret that you did not say it in the first place, when you should have!
