Songs about home...

They're pretty rare where I come from, so I was surprised to hear this one...

There weren't any rules I was just so surprised that someone would do a song about a strip of shingle with a few sheep in from the shore that my first instinct was to post.

I went to Coventry once (don't feel sorry for me - not quite as horrific as it seems as it was only a stop-off on the way to somewhere else. It was lunchtime, so we stopped at a cafe to get something to eat. Unfortunately that didn't work out too well as there was a sign in the window .... closed for lunch !! Kinda summed up the place really.

Coventry is literally 'bangin' compared to here.

    I don't really have a home.
I was born in Tampa, FL, but my dad being a military man, we moved a lot.
I suppose I could claim my mom and dad's hometown as 'home', but I don't think there are any songs about Red Springs, NC.
I wrote one about where my grampa worked in Red Springs, though.
to link or not to link, that is the question...
    Heck, why not:

I can't think of many songs with Bristol in the lyrics - maybe the exception would be a pastiche of the Pogues "Fairytale of New York" done by a couple of local Radio DJ's (Bush & Troy) a few years back which was amusing.

They also did "Feed the Wurzels"

You can see where this is going.........
