There's a little nod to / dig at recording industry promotion types in Zappa's "Once Upon a Time" as performed (mostly) by Mark Volman. Think margaritas.

There's also cosmology: "Gib zu mir etwas Fussbodenbelag / Unter diesen fetten fliessenden Sofa." But that's another story for another day.

I had tickets to see Harry. Sadly, he died the night before that show. Apparently, he was so into the music and ending hunger that he didn't take care of himself. RIP Harry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Chapin

No, no, no Steve, not at all....

....well no more than James who'll likely mention Tull....

...ooops he already has.

So yes then...

Wait for Bapu's song which will doubtless be about as contemporary as Al Jolson too, and McQ's that'll feature some desert dried corncrake that nobody has ever heard of, even Pedro, wailing painfully over an arthritic hand powered guitar .

Am I being unjustly harsh?  I'm realy just making observations not judgements

(or am I?)

I'll raise you one On the Road -- The Kinks. It's about being on tour, but not quite like Zappa's take(s) on that topic.
