Duke Ellington's "Daybreak Express." This is basically a train in music form, and I defy anyone to listen to the syncopated lines starting at 1:18 without smiling.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNHfuXRTp_4 - Someone's Pinched Me Winkles, Rolf Harris

When I were a lad I bought the "Sun Arise" album by Rolf Harris (who, being a ignorant white southern boy, I knew absolutely nothing about) due to the fact that it had "Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport" on it (which would also work here).  And, natch, after one listening I was near swooning with pleasure.  I just about wore out the grooves on that dang album...in fact, I still have it and have "remastered" it for safe keeping and my own continued enjoyment.  I love just about every cut on it...even the semi-serious one's like "Johnny Day".  My British pals here on the forum might well enlighten me as to just what a "winkle" is as I still to this day have no earthly idea.  But boy do I love this song and, I guess, ol Rolf too.  I've come to understand he's sort of a "novelty" icon in Blighty not unlike our own "Ray Stevens"...yup, love him near to death too (even got to work with him on several occasions).

In any case, here it is.  Resist smiling, eye-rolling, howling, moaning, gnashing of teeth, or pant wetting if you can.  I know it's still hard for me.  Go figure.

Not a obvious artist for making you laugh, but here are a couple unreleased songs by Richard Thompson, its not doom, gloom and the tomb- I Agree With Pat Metheny and Dear Janet Jackson  (mild profanity warning for Janet Jackson)

Edit - both these songs are available as a free download on Richard's website

His version of "Oops I did it Again" on 1,000 years of popular music always makes me smile too.

Here Fido!

Didn't even watch the video ... yet ... but I know it by heart.

Oh man, we had some awesome times listening to this man.

A buddy and I used to play a game we called Fermunda Ball. I had carpet on my bedroom walls and we splattered it with fluorescent paint, and had a huge black light behind the sound machine that lit the whole room up. To this day I still see shades of purple when I close my eyes. Anyhoo ... Fermunda Ball was this old round orange Nerf ball that was falling apart that we painted with fluorescent paint and we used to whip it at each other in the dark with the black light on, listening to this, and feeling happy.

You've made me very happy with this Sharke. I completely forgot about this, haven't even thought of it in 20 years.

No way! We used to do the same with a fluorescent ping pong ball tied with string to the ceiling light. We'd move the chairs into a circle and bat it around the room to each other like a game of psychedelic Swingball. Another thing we used to do was poke thousands of random pinholes into a sheet of foil and put it over the TV and watch it with the lights off. The moving colors would stream out of those holes and it would be all trippy and stuff

I think I went through 2 straight years of listening to nothing but Zappa. I used to deliver milk overnight for a living, and every morning I'd get home at 8am and listen to an entire Zappa album before I went to bed, either this or Make A Jazz Noise Here. It got to the point where I used to dream the guitar solos note for note.
