    For what it's worth, I just checked the lyrics and the song isn't actually about a black dog.

    Nick Drake - There is a song called Black Eyed Dog and is one of my faves.

    Close, but not an actual Black Dog.

    Shannon by Henry Gross has a dog at least.  I don't think it was black though.

    I always thought it was a ode, not to a black dog, but to "Black Dog" Scotch.

    That's an interesting take.  I won't rule it out, but I've heard the story about the black dog hanging out at the studio from a source that's independent from the Wiki.
