Does anyone have SonicSynth 2 that can comment on it? No matter what, $99 is a good price, but I just wondered about real users and how they've used it. I think I bought Wusikstation 1.0 (way back when...) for the same amount, hopefully there are upgrade paths for this like WStation.

There is also a free version of Sonik Synth 2 available (see here, then click on "DOWNLOAD"). I believe that this free version is fully functional, except that it only allows you to load a limited set of sounds.

I think I bought Wusikstation 1.0 (way back when...) for the same amount, hopefully there are upgrade paths for this like WStation. I have Sonik Synth 2 and I really like it. It's got loads and loads of synth sounds sampled from vintage machines. Not only that, you also get some very good acoustic drums, electric and acoustic guitars/basses, pianos, electronic drum kits, some ensemble strings, noises, percussion, etc. I use it as my "bread and butter" synth (well, ROMpler). Some say they like the acoustic stuff here better than they do the sounds in Sampletank. There is a large section of what are called "elements." Basically, they're raw samples from all sorts of synth and other sources. There's probably more than 1,000 of these. You can load several different ones on different tracks on Sonik Synth and layer them together. The result? Some impressive sounds! Note that it does not load any outside samples...it's strictly a ROMpler. However, there are over 5,000 different patches in Sonik Synth 2, so it'll keep you busy for a while. I've had it for about six months, and I'm not sure I've even touched the surface. For $99, it's a great deal (that's less than half of what I paid for it!) Hope that helps..feel free to ask any other questions. I can try to answer them. --SmokeyJ

Anybody interested in this offer might also note that ZZSounds is also offering IK Multimedia Composer Trio Bundle (comprised of SampleTank 2 L, Sonik Synth 2, and Miroslav Classik Edition) for $199.

I just read that there is also a sort of 2 for 1 deal going on for a while.... buy one and get one of the same price. So if you bought SonicSynth2 for only $99, I guess you just register it and then they let you download one other from the IK site for free! Did I read that right? If so, then I'd like to get SampleMoog or SampleTron along with it So that's each one for about $50? (rubbing his eyes and looking at price again...) See the Special Offer section on the left side, maybe I am reading it wrong.

I downloaded a demo version of SonicSynth 2 and Sample Moog. They both sound real good, but I wish they would give you more examples for both of those, it is hard to form an opinion with only 5-6 preset/patches for each. I really want to get Sonic Synth 2 , but then I am torn between getting either Sample Tank XL or Sample Moog as the freebie. I love the old classic sounds, but like new stuff too. Sonic Synth 2 does have a lot of old /classic sounds already in it, so I should probably go for Sample Tank instead of Sample Moog.
