Sonitus plug-ins

I've re-installed Sonar on another computer and everything seems to be back in order (so far). Although when I use any Sonitus plug-in I can't get any presets to work. Hasn't happened before and wondered if I'm missing something. Any advice?

Sonar Platinum, Asus Computer, Intel I7, 16GB Ram, Windows 10, 64bit. Roland UA-25EX Audio Interface. APEX 460 Condenser Mic, Acoustic, Electric, Bass Guitars, Keyboards, Percussion, Amps etc. etc...

Hey Jeff.  I'm sure you already know this.  If you have custom presets you'll need to bring them into the new build.  The factory presets should have been installed with the Sonitus Suite.  The Plugin Manager is your friend here.  You can access all the presets, custom or otherwise from the PM.

This may be a permissions problem.  The Sonitus presets are stored in .ini files in "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Plugins" which is not writable by a non-administrator.  The plugins give you the impression that you can save your own presets but this silently fails and they aren't saved.  You can get round this by changing the permissions on the above folder to allow write access, either to all users or just to your own login.

Antman ... I've opened the cakewalk shared plugins. I see the list including the Sonitus plugins ... but how do you change permissions on the folder to allow write access? thanks Paul G, I know I should know this but where is the plugin manager found? and Chuckebaby ... still working on it ...

Just like to add that Chuck's solution does work although the "no preset" stays the same whereas before the drop down menu would show different options ... but at least I can use the Sonitus plugins ... thanks Chuck ...

The Plugin Manager is under the Utilities drop down menu.  It's very easy to backup your custom presets this way.

See Week #136 in the "Friday's Tip of the Week" thread. It covers the care and feeding of Sonitus presets.
