I love vegas, but just hope for the best with the Magix acquisition!!

Yes it is. I've used Vegas for a while now and tho I've not mastered it by any means, it does well for my needs. i.e. quick edits of music video click tracks.

Using Vegas 10 and don't really work with video anymore. $199 doesn't even tickle my GAS.

Magix acquisition has pretty much guaranteed I will not likely ever use Vegas. have not used in forever anyway. I tried Magix's video editor and found it so-so. decent for price, but bot something I would choose over other affodable options.

They brought the Sony team. So it may not be doom and gloom.

In the past, Vegas upgrades went for $149...
That was way in the past. The only way you could get that special was to upgrade in the first 30 days. Now the upgrades are around $250, so what Magix is offering is a good price. Use v 13 now and get v 14 for no cost.

At one time Sony would have sales and upgrades were $99. What was really interesting you could buy another upgrade license. I have two of Acid Pro and Vegas 10. They also had the best tutorials for sale. All project files included. Too bad no one did tutorials like them but they were expensive.

I bought it. Had been looking at getting Vegas Pro for a long time and couldn't pass on the price. The good news is that the acquisition of the products by Magix is recent so will have no effect on VP14 and I'll have VP13 to fall back on if the team managed to botch the whole thing.

I just hope it stays like that. If they have a setup similar to Cakewalk/Gibson, it will be perfect. Very interested to see what the new update is going to look like next month.
