Soooooooooooooo, should I wait on updating to X1c?...
I haven't yet installed the latest update, and with all the problematic comments I'm seeing here on the forum, I'm wondering if I even SHOULD just yet... Has X1c caused more issues than it fixed or what? So far, X1b seems pretty stable to me, so do you folks believe I should make the jump or not just yet? Hopefully an X1 d is already in the works to button up all th issues that folks are having now thanks to X1c...

If X1b is running stable for you, I'd probably wait.

Hey Dime, 1. I love the Step Sequencer interface. 2. I love the new quick group function for the buses. 3. They gave us back the 'Associated Audio Files' display via right click. Or, if it was there in X1B I missed it. 4. I can't figure out the new Loop Construction View. That still needs a lot of work. Those are the things I've noticed in the limited time I've been using it. A couple of us have reported having problems with our CPU spiking since installing X1C, but in my case a restore from an image did not correct it, so it has to be something wrong with my PC and it was coincidence that I noticed it when I installed X1C. So, if it wouldn't have been for my CPU going kablooey, I'd actually be fairly happy with X1C.

Whatever you do, don't be as silly as me and not CLONE your C Drive before you do it. I bombed my entire system out and had to reinstall the whole lot - 2 1/2 days wasted. Now it runs 100% though!

Must say, if there are any major issues with X1c they must be in features I don't use. Seems to be running as solid as a rock and I am using it in a commercial studio setting everyday. Though I have not had any real issues other than the note duration bug that everyone seemed to have when it X1 was first released. I did do the Sonitus plug leak fix just to be safe. Otherwise, No probs.

Ditto... Stability-wise X1c seems no different than X1b for me, aside from the new features. Having separate snap settings back is wonderful, and I also like the new Step Sequencer and Loop Control View interfaces. The ability to work with busses in a similar fashion as tracks can't be overstated IMO, not to mention the Alt-Click feature to see downward and upward routing. So yeah, for me X1c is way worth it. Disclaimer: I have yet to try Guitar Rig.

On a forum you'll mostly hear about problems, so it can seem that's all that's happening, and of course it's not. As the folks above, mine is running superbly...love it.

X1c is not bug free. I doubt any X will be bug free. However, X1c offers much more then just more stability. I had no issues to speak of with X1b I now have very few issues with X1c. None are stability related. I would advise anyone to update to X1c. Just don't expect it to cure systemic issues.
