Sorry For The Bad Start
It wasn't my intention, but I'm afraid my return to this forum for the first time in many years got off on the wrong foot. In feeling frustrated that I had not taken advantage of recent upgrade opportunities, I made poorly chosen remarks in expressing my disappointment with the new upgrade structure and options. My bad.
I apologized in the thread in question, and acknowledge that my responses could have been worded more diplomatically.
I don't want to be perceived as a troll, or just here to bark about new changes, as I have participated and contributed to this forum for many years. Through the recent account changes, I lost my former user name and forum history, so I understand that I appear as a noisy newbie, but my history as a Cakewalk user goes back to 94. Though never a constant presence on the board, I have enjoyed many positive exchanges, and gleaned a lot of information from this community over the years. It serves a great purpose, and I salute the effort put forth by forum leaders and participants.
So please accept my apologies to all who participated in the thread in question. I appreciate your efforts to address my concerns, and I acknowledge that it was on me to act on upgrade pricing while available, and not Cakewalk's obligation to help me upgrade "on the cheap".
Since the embellishments and features that now exist in the new structure are beyond enticing, (especially since I have not upgraded since X1 Producer Expanded), I feel sure that after some studying and listening to comments here in the community, that I will be committing to one of the upgrade paths now available.
Thank you again, and hope I get a second pass at participating in the discussions. Sincerely, willieb65 (formerly noizyb)

[humor] Wait, I'm not sure I understand your apology. Is it for a year? Or will I get it in monthly installments? What if I don't accept a month? Will your apology still be mine? I need these answers and I need them officially now. [/humor]

Sorry if I got a little snappy, too. I had just come from Gearslutz, where the average IQ seems about half of what it is here. I guess I need to get out more. So a great big welcome. @
https://soundcloud.com/a-pleasure-dome http://www.bnoir-film.com/ there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

I agree with John %100. And let me welcome you back as well. I look forward to learning from you and am availabe to help you any way I can. I was one of the lotto winners so I bought Sonar Platinum this AM. Did the one big payment deal and the download and instal went really fast and smooth. Haven't been able to open it because of being busy with other things but I WILL get to it today. Sleep and hygene are over rated anyway.

With all due respect, you have a long and difficult road ahead of you if you want to qualify as an undesirable troll. Being a really competent troll takes dedication, effort, a blatant disregard of the facts, too much time on your hands, an internet connection in your mom's basement, and a highly negative outlook on life. Of course you'll welcome to be here! I fully expected that many people would see the possibility for monthly payments and assume Cakewalk had "gone Adobe." And frankly, in some ways it's not a bad thing - more people are paying attention to Cakewalk than ever right now And in the process, if they actually see what's being offered, they'll see it's a pretty smokin' deal.

Oh it has gotten bad in these forums in the past, and many times I was guilty. Sometimes it gets frustrating if someone doesn't see your pov, even though you feel you are right. The ones that drive me nuts usually is if someone blows off your issue because the thing that isn't working for you just isn't important to them. These days, I think of it in terms of... How will I feel about my posts a year from now? Will I be embarrassed? Or, will I feel embarrassed if I show my posts to friends/family? If the answer is yes, then stop and re-word it until you feel it passes the test. Another way is to just stick with what you believe to be the technical facts. Write it as if you are writing a technical manual, stating facts and describing steps etc., so that it isn't directed at a specific person. This will leave emotion out of the discussion when things get hot.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the understanding. I'm bouncing back and forth between deciding on the professional or platinum platforms. Having utilized Producer from Sonar 7 thru my current install of X1 Expanded, I'm not seeing an immediate benefit with going Platinum over Pro. I'll be reading posts and updates with great interest.
