I'm on Sonar Producer 8.5.3.  It came free with X1 last fall/winter, but I haven't installed the newer program - Producer does what I need and doesn't have the same complaints as X1 (anymore).

    8.5.3.

To go beyond that I would need two things in particular: 1) fixed notation; 2) restoration of full color control (have very specific RL physical issues that require the color flexibility that Sonar used to have).

It could still do with some cosmetic changes, and fixes/solutions addressed for those who are still having problems with it, but I've grown kind of used to it now.

Cool, but you still see the Cakewalk Sonar community and specifically a thread about which Sonar version you are on as a the best place to share your good news?

Man, you sounded just like the archetypal Mac user for a minute there...

X1c essentials version (32 bit on XP).... from MC4 which I will still run from time to time.... I'm still learning my way around X1c

It was a hard decision to move on from my old reliable and much beloved MC4.  It  has  served me well.

    X1c 64bit.

    [rant]
I have X1c 32bit loaded in Win7 64bit but I find that some VST vendors named their 32 bit vs 64 bit files differently and so the just open the 64bit project in 32bit "solution" is not always a elegant as it sounds. Yes, it opens. But 32bit can't (and should not) find the 64bit plugins. So sometimes, you have to start "over" WRT the plugins.

X1c, then I get mad at X1c and switch back to 8.5.3, then I miss some features of X1c and decide to go back and give it another try, then get mad again and go back to 8.5.3, then I get frustrated because I want to use my shiny new Pro Channel, so I switch back to X1c, then it crashes and I lose a project and get mad and switch back to 8.5.3, then get confused because I got used to the key bindings in X1c, so I decide to do some tweaking and switch back to X1c again and discover I can't use Auto-Save because it corrupts the graphics in the Tool Bar so I switch back to 8.5.3 and then realize my plug-in's aren't laid out the way I like them in X1c, so I switch back to X1c and then suddenly remember I can't use envelopes the way I did in 8.5.3, so I switch back to 8.5.3 and then I ...
