Sound Library is MIA

I recently installed X1 Producer. I was starting to set up my tracks and when I tried to pull down the Audio Library from the browser, Sonar said the file was not present. I have searched my files an have not found anything related to "Audio Library." Did I miss something in the installation? I am also getting the same issue with MIDI Groove Clips. Here are some screen shots:

Thanks

Did you allow it to do a "default" install or did you do a custom install where you selected the destination for the library files?

If the install completed successfully, the files are likely on the computer but not where X1 is looking for them.

Is this a dedicated DAW computer or a general purpose machine?

I generally do custom installs and place my massive library and samples on a different drive from the program on C.

I recall an install several years ago where something like this happened.... I started a search of the C drive looking at the tree and found what I was looking for on the c drive in a different directory. How it got there was beyond me, but I recalled using the default install and assumed it was all suppoed to work and know where everything went. WRONG.... at least in that case. I've done default installs since that went as planned. I had to add that folder with my plug in manager to use the contents.

All that to say, look in the c drive because it might be in a different folder than cakewalk.

If that fails, a reinstall might be in order and watch as it installs and asks or tells you where it installs what.  If you choose a custom install, it will ask you what you want installed and where....every step of the way.

I did a custom install as I am weird about having things in different places for backup reasons. I sure thought I knew where I put that file, but I cannot find it anywhere. Do you know the file name I could search for? Otherwise I guess a reinstall is in order. I am really itching to get started!
Thanks so much for your help.

If it was installed at all it goes into a folder named C:\Cakewalk Content by default.

If you changed the default location you'll have to search for the folder. Use the windows search tool. and/or look in the following:
You may find it in  your C:\.....\My Documents folder

You can also check for it in C:\Program Data

You don't have to do a full reinstall as you'll eventually get to a screen where you get to choose what is installed. You only need to select the extra material. I can't even remember if it is part of the main installation program or just on another disc.

My tower is general purpose machine in a way; as soon as my laptop arrives the tower will be dedicated. However, I do not run any games on my system, or download lots of crap to screw things up. The majority of software on my machine is mostly either graphics or music related. I also do website design.

I looked on the C drive and there is (was) no Cakewalk content folder there.

UPDATE: I did a fresh install and low-and-behold, there was the sound file, right where it was supposed to be. I have looked everywhere in my system and done searches in Windows Explorer and never found the other. It has to be somewhere though! Anyway, I am up and running - thanks for all the help!

With a custom install, as you said you did, it is also possible to "skip" installing parts of the program. That is likley what you did.

Glad you got it sorted out and working.
