In the UK there's a new program on Sky Arts starting on Tuesday 21st June 2016 called "Soundbreaking". Episode 1: "New. The Recording Artist: This fascinating series traces the history of music recording and begins with a look at the great producers, from George Martin to Rick Rubin (S1, ep 1)"

Sky Arts and BBC4 do have some gems, it's true. They usually turn up on YouTube after a while though.

You're right, we are quite lucky, although Sky Arts is not free. Other cool programs are Classic Albums - tonight Paul Simon is at the mixing desk, talking us through Graceland - really interesting. Tonight we've also got Trailblazers (we've had glam and punk, tonight is 80s pop), then Guitar Star 2016, then Metal Evolution, finally Motorhead - Ace of Spades.

Oh we get the Kardashians too, I've noticed this while swiftly moving to another channel.

Lucky you. I don't get them at all. Useless wastes of flesh if you ask me.
