Soundcard Essence STX 11 use with Sonar Platinum

Essence STX 11
I would like to know if anyone records on Sonar Platinum using an Essence STX11 sound card.
How does the card perform?
I can not find if the mic or line in for recording is TRS or if that matters.
I have an ISA 220 with phantom power which I assume I can plug into the line in for record.
I have two cards a Delta 66 and a E-MU 1616 and just built a new computer [Windows 10]and was wandering if would be better to get the Essence STX 11.
I think you can still get drivers for the Delta 66.
I appreciate any assistance you can give.

Those cards are made for gaming and listening to music. It does not have an ASIO driver so that's a huge reason to avoid it. And you right it is not clear if it has any professional grade inputs which makes it useless for what we do.

Even though PCI cards are appealing they  seem to be a thing of the past and have been replaced by USB ( firewire/Thunderbolt) audio interfaces. I would stick with what Sonar users have found works which is Tascam, Focusrite, Stienberg, Motu and RME as well as a few others that are on the ?? list of mine.

Absolutely no on the Essence STX.

And you're not likely to find stability on Win 10 with the Delta or Emu cards.  Not saying it's impossible, just that ASAIK there aren't current drivers for them, only workarounds.

You have a quality channel strip so that's a good start.  You're right that you can connect the mic pre into a line in, but do you need more I/O, or will a simple 2-in/2-out interface be enough?

What's your budget?  The Essence runs around $200 so presumably you're willing to spend at least that much....
