Soundcard question/wondering

Hey guys,
Does any body know anything about the Creative SB Audigy2 SZ PlatinumPro. Soundcard? A mate of mine is looking to sell one and I was wondering what it was like, whether itd be worth me making him an offer.

I use HS2004XL to record bits and pieces now and then and have been looking to get a decent ish sound card for a while. Any one offer any advice? Thanks so much.

    The convention wisdom around the forum is avoid any Creative product that does not have EMU in the name.
    Here is a sample list of external sound interfaces you may want to look at

    As for PCI bus interfaces look at something like Creative's EMU series, M-Audio Delta series for inexpensive solutions.

    The SB series are great for gaming but not so great for recording.
