Soundcloud spammers

Hi. Just wanted to ask you nice people that have you noticed is it counter productive to report spammers? I get frustrated when the first likes I get are from spammers and once I even got nasty talk from a spammer. I have started to report them because I don't like them. But in your experience If i continue on this path is it even likely that I actually get lots more spamming or some other nasty things as a revenge? It is ofc the right thing to do to report spammers.

    Hi,

Most mail, or server admins have a way or two of finding spammers, and in general, multiple emails from the same place (for example) are already looked at and addressed. Trolls is a bit different, and it requires an admin, to the particular forum that should be able to track usage ... for example, here Bapu is a good guy and help, but in some places he might be considered spam/troll and taken down. However, the main difference is that Bapu is an "active" user, and very helpful very often.

The really good spammers/trolls, that work full time at it, will spoof the headers some 10 to 20 times, and get away from it, for a bit longer, but eventually they get cut down.

It's difficult to catch everything, though, since you end up blocking way too much, and that slows down the whole process, way too much, and you and I would not like it. You kinda have to find a reasonable balance so you are not taking up processing time, and hurting the whole thing. I've always thought that a bot should be created to send multiple emails from the same person/site to a different check in point, for the purpose of checking ... and slow THEM down, not the rest of them.

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

I know I get spam because some of the likes are from dudes or dudettes that want me to pay for lots of listens.

I have recently started to report them. Might not be worth it, and, so far, SoundCloud have not banned any of those I have reported or removed their "likes."

Thank you for your comment. I have been reporting spammers and most of the likes made by them have been removed but some still remain, dunno why.

Yup, when I got my first "instant fanboi" I thought, hey, this SoundCloud thingy might be starting to work for me. Tee Hee. It is amazing how quickly the spam is generated from the moment your track goes live.

Thank you for your comment. I agree, the instant 'fanbois' are very quick to spam. Annoying the moments when you find out you have been spammed.
