Sounds Like a Chipmunk!!!!! Help Please

I have music creator le and whn I plug in my usb mic or guitar cord after i record it compresses the tempo or somthing and the song plays back really fast and sounds like a chipmunk, Can anyone help me fixit?? Thanks

    USB mics and USB guitar cords are very problematic.  I never recommend anyone buy those things.

    what it sounds like is happening is a sample rate mismatch.  you have to make sure your sample rate for the hardware is same as the software settings.  what soundcard are you using?  maybe a soundblaster?  if so, change your sample rate to 48kHz.  if not, make sure everything (including your hardware) is set to 44.1kHz.
