Yes, this one is, I think, a good plug to emulate double-tracking. Of course, simulating double-tracking can be done without plugs : you can run your mono guitar track to another track where you add a slight delay (under 20ms), a pitchshifter (tone detuned very slightly) and some Equalization (so that the tone on this track has not the same EQing of the raw guitar on the other track). YOu can also modulate the delay time with an LFO. Then you pan the raw guitar track on one channel (let's say the right canal) and the delayed one on the left channel. See this : http://forum.cakewalk.com...px?m=...e=1&print=true The problem is that you can have phase issues (specially if you turn your recording to mono) : it depends on the delay time you choose and on the Equalization you do. So, good plugins that simulate double-tracking are welcome and yes, this one is free... for ilock users According to Soundtoys, it's inspired from Eventide H3000 and AMS DMX, which are used by The Edge (U2), Van Halen and Steve Vai. I made 2 quick videos to hear what this plug can do. Here are the links : Little Microshift plugin (mono to stereo) - Van Halen Quick Tone : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FpxDgL4THQ Little Microshift plugin (mono to stereo) - I will follow test : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN_GvwIFGd4 I like the preset III with mix 100% wet (to me there's no phase issue with it and a good stereo widening) If someone experienced better plugs or have good simple tricks to turn a mono guitar track to something "spacious" without having to double track (à la "The Edge" when he plays live), I'm ready to learn more ! Cheers Olivier PS : if you want to get the plug, use a redemption code (read the text under the videos) and follow the written procedure(it's quite complex because of the ilock which needs drivers and sharing soft to be updated on your PC).
