Spectre and Meltdown patches coming Any changes noted in performance?

Quite aside from Windows 10 updates breaking SONAR in the distant future, the patches to avoid chip level security issues should be on the way, if you have not been updated already. These can potentially cause significant slowdowns for some processes. Has anyone noted practical performance issues?

I run Windows 10 Pro so I delay my updates as I'm on the Windows update business branch.
So no as it isn't installed and won't be for a while.

that is good to know as when the news first came out it was thought DAWs would suffer but seems more regarding cloud based processes.

Magic: when you feel inspired to create which in turn inspires more creation.

And the corollary: if magic happens inspiration might flog it to death with numerous retakes.

Patch installed.  No difference so far.  Install the patch. My day job involves computers in and out of the cloud and I have not noticed any appreciable difference for current hardware.  Older processors demonstrate incremental latency as load increases.

The class of attacks is not weaponized - as far as we know (you listening NSA?) - but when it is, you'll want to be protected.  Spectre is the more serious concern, the more mercurial.  Fix Meltdown now and pay attention to Spectre.
