Speed up VST load time in tracks .. Particularly ARTURIA Plugs

Hi Guys,

I have SPLAT. Most, near all of my VSTs per track load swift enough, however the ARTURIA plugins can take an age to load, especially the V3 ones ( Latest update ).

I am just wondering are others here seeing similar & are there any tweaks worth trying in Cakewalk Sonar to speed up these Arturia plugin load times?

I have the v-collection .. https://www.arturia.com/products/analog-classics/v-collection/overview

Love these plugs as I am a complete analog synth fan .. Tangerine Dream nut :D

What are you system specs, I use the V5 collection all the time and have not experienced slow loads.

Im using a Dell Inspiron 17" Laptop. Core i5, 16GB Ram, 1 TB Harddrive. Windows 10 Pro updated to latest.

All other plugs I have like AIR Collection ( Loom, Hybrid and all that ), all the NI Stuff Kontakt, Reaktor etc .. all load within say 10 to 15 secs. The Arturia V stuff can take up to 40 secs or more each and then would give me the sonar not responding.

I realise vsts get cached by windows 2nd time around, so faster. But this is all with first time loads into individual tracks. Arturia first time load takes an age, all other plugs load fast and fine.

So .. im not sure it has anything to do with the system spec.

Also the Arturia stuff is coming up in the Virtual Instruments window over right as VST3. NI stuff is coming up as VST2.

    OK further discovery.

I drag drop say CS 80 VST3 over to a new track. This loads to track very fast, now that I look at it. Its when I CLICK to open the VST window itself with the synth in it that takes an age AFTER the vst is loaded into the track.

I unchecked HIDE RELATED VST2 plugins to expose the VST2 versions of the Arturia V Collection Plugs. Observations:

    1. I Load a VST3 version first time via drag drop to a new track. It seems to load into the track fast enough BUT when you click the icon to open the VST synth window THAT takes ages, sonar does a not responding

    2. I load a VST2 version first time via drag drop to a new track. It seems to load into the track WAY SLOWER BUT when you click the icon to open the VST synth window THAT opens up alot faster

    Any thoughts?

I think I gained speed by uninstalling the whole Arturia suite and reinstalling again.

Now loading VST3 arturia plugs goes as follows - Drag drop arturia vst3 synth to new track. Seems to load straight away. Click the piano icon right of track number to open the synth window takes about 10 seconds.

    Would that be reasonable?

Out of curiosity .. why does the drag / dropped synth to new track seem to load almost instantly but when you click to open the synth window, that takes the time? Whats happening there?
