Spicy Guitar is now Free

Apparently, the company has gone under and is giving away the full version for free. Their website server seems to be getting hit pretty hard though.....

Nice, have lots of great sample based guitar romplers and sets but it's always nice with some additional freeware to try out. Some of the demo songs on their wesite were pretty nice as well

Sadly very reduced studio equipment as it is... ASUS G750J, 8 gb RAM, Win8, Roland Quad Capture.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I'm a fan of modelled synths, I've downloaded and will try it out later.

It works fine as a VST in SX1a but I can't play it in standalone mode because I can't find where to set up the MIDI ports.  Any pointers?

I downloaded it yesterday and experimented with it. It's not bad, but chances are you already have equally good acoustic guitar sounds in your collection.

keebo, apparently it always runs in omni or channel 1. You can, however, specify individual strings by MIDI channels 2-7, where channel 2 always triggers the low E string.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I gave it a whirl. It sounds more like a DI'ed acoustic to me. I think the strumming sounds pretty good, but solo notes/lines sound very fake. Which isn't necessarily bad, but it certainly doesn't sound like a mic'ed acoustic guitar.

I'm still looking for a good ukulele synth, which this claims to have but it's lousy.
