OK, I'll admit it. I am arachnophobic. I really do not like the things. I am a plumber, and most of us seem to share the same lack of fondness for these creatures. There is nothing like being on your belly in a confined crawlspace, and seeing something move out of the corner of your eye. You look up, and the entire ceiling is a seething mass of nasty black legs, and egg sacks.
Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it. I have been known to empty an entire acetylene tank burning off the webs. That is actually a sight in itself. Spider webs burn at a rate just slightly slower that napalm. Watching a flame front race down a joist bay is fairly terrifying on its own, but dammit, the spiders are gone.

I don't mind them.. a lot of people use vacuums on them so they don't have to touch them etc.

I mind bee's and wasps more.. partly because I've never been stung I guess.. wasps more so as they can repeat sting.
spiders , well I don't mind... they all have their purpose in the scheme of things , and if they get rid of flies.. well thats not bad.

I do like the patterns on spiderwebs though.. and how they build them. it's like us jumping from building to building... err sorta like spider man does (doh.. that sounds really stupid)

Spiders in general don't bother me.... I do some security wiring under homes and buildings from time to time.... my only concern is the black widows and brown recluse.... with more precaution for the BR.... it's got a really nasty bite.

I thought it might have something to do with that too. Ronno might just be my fave guitarist/arangers. He's always floating nearby when I record.

I saw this documentary about a spider whose female lays its eggs under skin - animals - people - don't matter. Some girl thought she had a pimple but one afternoon it popped and 1000s of baby spiders came racing out across her face.

I'm not overly keen on them, although here in the UK most are pretty harmless. Occassionally get ones with hairy legs and pointed teeth turn up in a crate of bananas...
