Spitfish still at 32-bit - Alternatives?

For years, I used the (free) and highly effective Spitfish VST for de-essing.

The site which hosts it appears to be abandoned. Alas, I see no possibilities of it becoming a 64-bit plug-in. I have tried using it in 64-bit Sonar X1 but the settings simply do not get saved(!).

I am looking for an alterantive VST. Ideally, something free/low cost and very similar to Spitfish in its functionality.

Ideas?

Sonitus Multiband will work. Too bad about Spitfish, it's a good one.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

It is a good one - and worked really well for what it was designed to do.

I would keep using it at 32-bit (actually I am - but having to manually adjust the settings everytime I open a project is tedious!). I know that Sonar has other options: MB comp or the voice channel - but Spitfish did it best without messing with the sound.

Haven't tried this one yet - as it's part of a bundle - but the Toneboosters are generally well-regarded.... and reasonably priced:

Sascha`s "Spitfish" is available now as part of the eFX Plugs in Pro X, of cause at 64-bit.

I think, the Essential FX Suite will be available in a few month for all hosts.

At the moment they are not available as vst plugs for other daws. They are "EssentialFX" and are integrated in ProX. But I´m sure they will be sold separately like all the other  integrated Effects of the ProX Suite, http://pro.magix.com/en/audio-plugins.567.html

Okay - I will keep my eyes open.

In the meantime, does anyone have any other suggestions for a de-esser VST?

What's wrong with the de-esser in the VX64 Vocal Strip?  It works for me.  Otherwise, as others have said, the Sonitus multiband can be tweaked to work as a very good de-esser.

Well, the Spitfish seems to work a bit more intuitively, and has a better display.

Besides, I just need the de-esser, not the other efx in the Vocal Strip.

You don't need to use the other modules in the VX - just switch them off.

    Ditto for the VC64

I understand that - but it's display/effectiveness still isn't as good as the old Spitfish - at least in my opinion.

Try holding shift and double clicking to pen spitfish interface That may solve your problems without having to find other software. Spitfish is a great program, but I have now gotten used to just using VX. I'm finding a lot of processes that the time it takes ot just get used to something built into Sonar is often less than the tedious process of finding something else.
