Splater will not load

Hello all,
Has anyone run into not being able to open sonar. It was there and now it's  not. Totally  Uninstalled and started over in CCC. It all started when I  updated CA 2a after all the talk about updating things in pro chanel. I get the Plat screen with the rotating blue circle, but when I left click mouse the Plat screen logo goes white and the sonar not responding message appears. Rolled back computer but still not loading. I've never had  this happen before.

    If this occurs when starting up SONAR with no project, and you have no general audio problems (e.g. you can watch a YouTube video) then the most likely cause is a plugin is failing during the scan.
     
    Hold the SHIFT key down while starting SONAR. That enables Safe Mode and will bypass the scan. If SONAR comes up OK, you can then run the scan manually and see which plugin is hanging.
     
    If the scan crashes or hangs, you may see its pathname in the progress dialog, but if not you can enable the scan log. Go to Preferences->VST Settings. Hold the SHIFT key down and click the Reset button, then hold the SHIFT key down and click the Scan button.
     
    This will create a log file (c:\users\{your_name}\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Logs\VSTScan.log) that'll enable you to zero in on which plugin is causing problems.


    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    I'll  give it a try. CA2A is the latest addition, even though I  already have it.

    Hello to all,
    Well, I have tried all and to no avail. Cannot shift and start Plat. Same scenario. I did notice that the Splat program does not seem to be loading. In windows programs for uninstall/repair there is Sonar pro, X1, X2,X3, but Sonar Platinum. Maybe this is one for the Baker's. Program just does not seem to be loading. I did open Sonar Pro and it works fine. Unless The CCC has changed with something newer. Any help?

    even if you don't get the sonar gui, check task manager, is the sonar process running there?

    Hello to all,
    Well.... I got it figured out........... I think...it seems that Plat had more than one location that it was loading from. Knocking heads sort of. I removed all locations of Plat and all locations of the CCC. Removed the new download of CA2A, started the whole process of reloading software. First thing also I removed my interface from the chain. Loaded CCC, loaded Plat. All loaded correct. Then I reloaded the CA2A. Now all is back to 'normal'. Thanks to all who jumped in. I still learn new things.
