Split Clips in S8
Does anyone knows hot to configure/setup/mod the split clips function in Sonar 8PE to make it work like it does in Sonar7? In Sonar 7 When you split a clip, the left part of the clip is automatically selected... in 8PE, the resulting 2 parts of the splitted clip are selected... this is annoying considering that many people (me included!), got used to this keyboard shortcut and function since older Sonar versions.... thanks for replying!

There's no way to change it (yet). I think a lot of people (myself included) are hoping that this behavior either changes, or becomes optional with Sonar 8.3 which will be out later this month. Nothing's been confirmed on that front though so it could just be wishful thinking...

I'm torn in the middle. I'd rather it grab the right side of the track after a split. For instance, I think most people would edit drums from start to finish, so grabbing the right side after a split would make more sense in that situation. Just select all your drum tracks the just keep clicking on the time ruler to change position and all your clips remain selected while you do your splits. Maybe if we could choose between left, right, or both it would be safest for everyone. Come to think of it, I better stop asking for stuff or Noel is going to kick my ass.

Actually no :-) We actually fixed this and made it configurable for 8.3. Sorry about that.

I guess I need to be very careful here. CW is always watching. They seem to be a lot like the NSA only they act on what they learn here. This is great news that you at CW are getting this done in a very timely manner. I have no particular reason for wanting this yet I truly appreciate that has listened to its forum members and acted on this. It was being asked that CW do this and allow users chose how they want this to work and CW has listened. Sometimes you at CW warm us with warm fuzzies!

Damn and there I was studiously avoiding all the 'I want 8.3 now' threads and you go and drop that on us! I'm still not gonna say it cos I'd rather it were ready but you are a big tease! How about the send insertion bug (whereby sends are inserted switched on and turned up)? Please don't release the patch until this one is squashed too.... Ta Child

I'm glad you were able to squeeze this in as it's a constant irritation for many of us... I guess a rule to live by in programming is to make everything you can be user-selectable... I know it's got it's down-side for a lean/simple programming, but as we all tend to live inside of this software, the slightest mis-fit and we're being rubbed "the wrong way"... ;-) Love Ya' Keni

Thumbs up for having this fixed AND user configurable in the update. This was one of the things holding me back from upgrading. (Waiting to see how everyone experiences 8.3 before upgrading). ORIGINAL: Rothchild How about the send insertion bug (whereby sends are inserted switched on and turned up)? Actually I found this quite handy when I was testing the web demo. I might change my mind when using Sonar 8 in full production but I don't think so. So again, it would be nice to have this as a user option. And then may I suggest the ability to choose a different behaviour when creating a send that goes to a plugin side-chain input instead of going to a bus? UnderTow
