Split Stereo Clip to Two Mono Clips (in Sonar X1)

I've imported a stereo track and want to bounce/split a clip of that to two mono tracks so I can adjust the volume/effects/sends/panning of each side separately.

This question applies to Sonar X1. In earlier Sonar versions I could split stereo tracks to mono tracks, but in the new version I don't see this feature.

If I right click the clip, I see an option to Bounce to Clips, or convert to mono, but not a split stereo to two mono tracks, which is what I would like to do.       Thanks

What version are you using? In 8.5 one of the Bounce to Track Channel Format Options is Split Mono. I think that will do what you want.

Sonar X1. (Just added info that to original post.). I don't see this feature in X1.

I'd be surprised if X1 didn't have that option. You won't see it by clicking the clip. It should be in the edit menu. At least that's where it is in 8.5.

    Go to the X1 forum.

The answer is its in the Clips menu in the Track View: Clips-Convert to Mono.

The clips menu in track view Convert to Mono doesn't split the stereo track into two mono tracks, it just combines the left and right into a single mono track. I'm trying to split the left and right into two separate tracks so I can add effects and pan to each independently.

But Daveny5's comment did lead me to what I was looking for:
First I selected/highlighted the clip /section of that track I wanted to split (I only needed a smaller section split, not the entire track). Next, in the Track View there is Tracks drop down menu. Under that select Bounce to Tracks and then in the Channel format field choose Split Mono. For my uses I'm choosing Tracks for the Source Category and under Mix Enables only checking  Fast Bounce as I don't want any effect mixed in yet.  I saved this as a present so I can use it again more easily.

Maybe there is a simpler way to be found but this worked. It seems wasteful of memory to have to create duplicate split mono tracks like this, as there's really no reason this couldn't be done virtually and non-destructively. Perhaps it can be done in Sonar X1 somehow, but I couldn't find a way.

That's the right option. This is an area they changed in X1.
