Split keyboard - play 2 synths?

Anyone know if there's a way to split a midi keyboard down the middle so I can play two different synths at the same time with only one midi keyboard?  Or play one synth with one midi keyboard, but divide the synth so it will be two different presets at the same time on the single keyboard.

I'm asking in regards to z3ta+, but could be any synth really, if there's one that can do this.

Thanks for any info.

I am not an expert at Z3ta+ (...yet ) , but I know in Wusikstation you can set up "Zones" easily for different sounds. So a bass synth sound might be from 0 to 60, and then a lead synth from 61 and on up, where 0 is the lowest key and 60 is around the middle C er so, and so on.

If you set both synths to receive on the same midi channel, and set one to be 0-60 (like the Wusik example) and the other synth the same way, but set it to only 61 and up, then I think it may work.

You didn't mention what host you're using.  But most any DAW multitrack host would let you do this.  I think in SONAR you would create two sets of tracks for two instances of the softsynth.  Each instance could use the same MIDI source controller but you can apply filters and set channels and such on each track to make it so that each soft synth only sees what you want it to respond to.

Thanks. I'm running Reaper for my current DAW.
