Splitting Audio Clips

I have split many clips, but today I am having this weird issue: 1-When highlighting a clip and selecting "Split," I no longer got the dialog box: the clip just split at the Now time. 2-That wouldn't be so bad, but now when I select Split, nothing happens. I don't get the dialog box and the clip does not split. The clips in question are audio clips—specifically vocal takes I am putting together from different tracks. What am I missing? UPDATE: Now the scissors thing (Split Tool) is not doing anything. Why would splitting suddenly not work?

This is a shot in the dark but you haven't accidently pressed 0 on your numeric keypad in num lock mode have you?

I did that a couple of weeks ago and it seemed for a while that split clip had stopped working but I had in fact entered "enhanced editing mode" and was splitting the clip miles from where I thought it should be.

Worth a check anyway, I scratched my head for a long time.......

Thanks, FBB. I restarted Sonar before I read your reply and the problem seems to be fixed, but now I know what to check if it happens again. I have a wireless keyboard that is a bit annoying and I could have hit the zero key. Appreciate the help...

    Wireless keyboard = universal remote

I use a Logitech keyboard and while it's plug and play, they have a utility you can download. It shows battery levels but more importantly, shows when Caps Lock is on. Knowing that has saved me numerous moments of pilot error.
