Splitting up is So Hard to do

Okay. Finally got X2 running smoothly and things have been just dandy till this weird one. I'm laying down guitar tracks in my shiny new take lanes. So I get a good verse take, but I want to split off 2 bars of it to use later in the song. I grab my handy split tool, click and....nothing. Click, nothing. If I CTRL-copy the clip to another lane and use the split tool it works first time. WTF is going on here, or is there some new rule I'm breaking that I'm not aware of?

I just had the same issue with split not working on a clip in a take lane. It's like the tool didnt realize the clip was there. I "fixed" it by clicking on the track. After that it worked fine.

Same here, and same solution as zybermark - select the clip first, usually does the trick. I am hoping this is a bug to be fixed and not an intentional design change because its a royal pain in the rump.

I tried selecting the clip first but that didn't work. I'm sure it's probably a bug.

I think there are issues with the lanes that will be fixed.

I had a split clips issue with lanes recently. The clip would split in a different spot than I wanted even though snap was turned off. I closed the project and re-opened and it worked correctly again. Another was trying to copy and drag clips within the lanes was not working right on a project. That problem too just went away after closing and reopening... Annoying but since it has only happened a couple of times, not a show stopper.
