Spotty performance

I'm running a fairly decent dual core, 4 gigs ram, plenty hd space. Audio interface = Profire 610 (firewire). When I start X1 up it's spotty. Sometimes it doesn't work sometimes it does. But when I haven't used X1 in a few days, there's no sound output.

I notice that I will have to reboot my system for it to work. Is anyone having these issues? Any work arounds? Thanks

Sounds like a Firewire issue more than a Sonar issue. What is the chipset on that Firewire card?

    It's Texas Instruments or nothing.

I'm not sure if it's the TI chipset. I did install a legacy driver but I can't find documentation as to what chipset it is. The recording is good for the most part. I have been noticing more static than normal.

    Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
    Sonar X1 Producer 1A 64 bit
MAudio Profire 610 (running whatever the latest drivers are)

The main problem is if I don't use Sonar for a couple of days and I start it, it doesn't work. I then have to reboot the system. I always keep the interface plugged into my laptop. Only time I unplug it is when the computer is turned off (never "hot plugged" the unit)

When you can't get sound out of Sonar, can you get sound out of any other application through the Profire 610?

Please use the power adapter supply'd with the 610 and are you using a 4pin or 6pin fw cord >? if there is bluetooth turn it off , I read about your 1394/firewire port. there is no information ..telling you who made it !! also i noted that this unit was orignaly Vista.. I'd goto units home page support and see what chipset drivers are offerd for win7-64-b there vip and video too !! ....http://support.lenovo.com...LegacyDocID=MIGR-70413

If I were you I'd update to at least X1c immediately.

X1a was extremely buggy and virtually unusable on my old system
