Stability in X1c expanded vs. X1c
Hi, After upgrading from X1c to X1c expanded with all the new prochannel modules (and 1.0.1 patches), I've had a few crashes (Sonar becomes 'white' and unresponsive, requiring a task kill and sonar restart) on the same project I had no crashes with prior to upgrading - no additional synths, tracks or effects have been added to the project, I'm just working with different mixes. I haven't narrowed anything down to a specific, repeatable issue, however has anybody else noticed a general increase or decrease in stability when moving from X1c to X1c expanded w/ the 1.0.1 pro channel patches? Thanks Russ

Russ Yes, I had to reinstall x1 as I had problems with the PC locked when I tried to swap processors. Also had issues with crashes. Waiting for x1D, and cross my fingers. JanR

i have Expanded, but i did not go out and buy new Pro Channel modules. my system seem a lot more stable primarily because of how much quicker i seem to move within my workflow.

No problems with Expanded whatsoever. Really enjoying the workflow. The ProChannel modules are making life a lot easier when it comes to EQ and compression. I'm really looking forward to the Quad Curve EQ in the update this month.

I just installed X1 Expanded (until now using 8.5.3) and have experienced the white screen of death a few times. I sure wish that Pro Channel was an expandable UI. It's a great piece of equipment, but I have gotten used to putting Ozone on most every channel (have been doing this for years). It is effectively the same thing, but with a much easier to use UI, since it is not restricted to being jammed into the small space that PC is restricted to. I really don't understand that. Since I don't use PC, I reduced the Inspector window to show just the controls for the selected track. Am I missing something by not seeing the buss that the track is assigned to in the Inspector window? I'm sure they put it there for a reason, but I don't mentally associate a buss with individual tracks, I associate it with a group of tracks. I float a Console View to the monitor on my right, and restrict it to just busses.

Count me in on one who decided to expand only to find out I had to roll back to X1c... just too many bugs for me to work with... the worst problem was mixing where the channel strips in console view starting FLYING around when I tried to raise or lower a fader... my mouse would no longer be under the track I was trying to edit.... many other little problems as well... OH well, let's hope that X1d fixes this for expanded users. Glad I only paid $10 for the expanded update though. JK

Anyone else experience this little annoyance in track view where you have a track selected, click on a buss, then all of a sudden the track area automatically goes to the top and you're staring at track #1? I hate it!!! I'll be working on track #30, edit a buss or click on one, then click back up to a track and I'm way at the top of the project. Lamez!

I just got x1, c, and expanded, and have one repeatable "white screen" lock-up. If I hit the loop button, without ever having first hit the button below it to select the loop range, (I don't know why I did that but I did), Sonar locks up.

Over the years I've had all sorts of bizzar, funky n' wild things like this happen to me in Cakewalk/Sonar. Some remain unexplainable. Some are fixed by regularly defragmenting your hard drive. Sometimes I have to do this daily because hours of working in Sonar can make a mess of your file structure. Others seem to be conflicts between Sonar and graphics hardware. Its not always Sonar's fault. Its kind of a crap shoot because every PC is different. My current issue is with stretching audio clips. After a while I have to use "bounce to clips" first. If I don't the clip will jump out of position and remain unstretched while trying to stretch it. It does this in both X1c and X1 Expanded with all the updates/quick fixes installed. Am I alone on this? Steve

Thanks for feedback all. I haven't spent the time to figure out a repeateable issue, but at this point, I'll just wait for X1D before researching / isolating the issue further. inaheartbeat - yes, I installed all x1c quickfixes & 1.0.1. patches for the concrete limiter, etc.
