Stablility or New Features / post one or the other to the forum

Everyone should reply (tweet) to this thread with just one item for the next release. what is it?      Stablility  or   New Features

Yea, I Started on Cakewalk 3. and have been using this product ever since the Pentium 1 was released.
Of course I have had to learn to build PCs (with fine detail and deep research into hardware compatibility) to be able to run this product.
I debate my migration options every year and every machine upgrade and I visit the NAMM show annually.
I want Sonar to be regarded as a stable certified professional recording platform in the greater community.

TO SONAR DEVELOPERS:
Spend your entire budget this year on stability.
If it does not work, don't put it into your product. It is really that simple.

With social media all around us, lack of quality control can get headline news.

I am committed Sonar,

EOE

    Hello

It seems to me judging by reports that Sonar X1 has serious flaws. I am going to wait until Sonar X2 to upgrade. I think Cakewalk should  just concentrate on getting things right and releasing Sonar X2 early this year in the summer with absolutely nothing new in it but the program fixed and working rock solid.

They should look at every area of the Program from the Piano Roll view to the Console view and make sure everything is perfect.

Maybe they could update the video and notation that some people complained about. These are not issues for me but leave it at that.

The Interface could be tweaked to smooth it out.

However I do realise that while this would satisfy a lot of people here it wouldnt financially suit Cakewalk as Sonar X2 would not have extra features to sell.

Just my opinion. I am sure there will be plenty of dissenting voices who disagree with me but thats democracy.

Maybe X1b will tie up most the loose ends and X2 may incorporate new features. Why not?

"If it does not work, don't put it into your product. It is really that simple." except some people use XP, others Vista, others Windows 7, some 32 bit, some 64 - different audio cards, soft synths, misc. other software on computer etc. It's a miracle they can get anything working on all computers.

That should not be a new version or a paying upgrade! They should do all this as maintenance patches to X1 and only after that is done start on X2 which should then have new features and/or improvements to existing features.

Stability first, but an improvement to automation envelopes would be welcome, too.

Thank you so much.  An example of what can be done with Sonar and Sony Vegas and a cheap video recorder.

I needs me some stability bad awful.

I'll be truly desperate if X1B does not restore basic functionality on my rig.

    Stability first without a doubt.

Personally I thought that the Sonar 8.0 update was great, lots of under the hood tweaks and so much emphasis on performance and stability as I recall.

Then maybe review and expand the feature sets for previously implemented features, plug-ins and instruments.

1st - Stability of course, however, that should go without saying.

2nd - There are some minor tweaks that would be cool.  For instance, once FX Chain is working correctly, Cake should tweak it so that you could just drag and drop FXs directly into the FX Chain.  Man, that would be sooooo coooool!
