Staff View Crashes Sonar X1
About 1 out of 5 times, when I go to Staff View, I get the white screen crash. This is a major problem since I do almost all my work in Staff View. Has anyone else experienced this, and, if so, do you know what the variables are? This happens whether I go to Staff View from the menu or by hitting the shortcut button I set up on my V-Studio.

32 bit or 64 bit? X1a/b/c or d? Which operating system? (and is that 64 bit or 32 bit). I suggest your update my footer like mine so everyone knows what you got. No error messages? And I'll just throw this in randomly: http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013262 Cheers....

"konradh" when I go to Staff View, I get the white screen crash Try this and let me know if it works for you (or not). On the right hand side of the staff view is a smaller viewer pane containing a listing of the tracks currently displayed in your staff view. It allows you to mute and solo etc. Grab the left hand border and drag it completely to the right until you can't see it's content anymore (in effect hiding that mini viewer pane). Save your project as is before doing anything else. Now switch views (screensets) at will and if I'm right about this, you should not have anymore of those "white screen crash".

Alegrai, Very interesting, thanks! I will try it. CakeAlexS, Hmm, Thought I had updated my footer: I must have messed it up. I have Win 7 64 bit and run Sonar X1b in 64-bit. I use a V-Studio 700. My PC is a rack-mount Sweetwater Creation Station with an 8-core processor and 12 GBs RAM. Specicially, the processor is an Intel i7 CPU - 950 @ 3.07GHz,

Straight away I'd install the service pack and upgrade to X1D. Cheers Konradh...

+1 to X1d although Alegria's idea sounds interesting. Also consider running a disk scan to ensure your disk is error-free, and cleaning up any plug-ins you're not using.

Alegria and all, My installation has been a bit messed up since day 1. (New technician who did not know what he was doing.) Sweetwater wants me to take a day off to work with them remotely to install all patches and get up to X1d. I have been putting it off as I am finishing an album right now, but stopping and upgrading may be the only solution as I have a number of issues that most users do not. Thanks for your help. By the way, at Alegria's suggestion, I just updated my signature line.
