Staff View Snap Functions

Choose a quarter note and notice how the cursor follows the quarter note length so that the note can be entered at the right time.  Choose an eighth note and do same, and it works correctly.  But now choose a larger value, a whole note, and notice the snap function fails to follow the whole note, instead behaving as though I've chosen an eighth or a sixteenth note.  Snap functions do not seem to work except on first opening staff view.

I've reported it.  Anyone else find a way to get the staff view snap functions to work correctly?  The staff view snap function appears to be completely independent of the general snap functions on the control bar and even the snap settings in preferences, which makes sense, but its implementation is faulty, which is so often the case with X1 and X2.

I should have been clearer in my description of this bug:

Chose a whole note in staff view and watch the snap follow the whole beat (half note and quarter snap to the same default, the beat, which makes sense).  Change the note to an eighth or 16th or 32nd and all works well.  Go back to a quarter note and it still works fine.

BUT--go ahead and INSERT a quarter note on to the staff.  Now pick a 16th note and insert that.  AS SOON AS YOU INSERT A NOTE OF A SMALLER VALUE, THE SNAP FUNCTION NO LONGER WORKS WITH THE LARGER NOTE VALUE.  Instead, the snap to value becomes fixated on the 16th note, when it should still be changing based on the note value. Of course, if CW fixed this instead of adding more redundant and unnecessary plugins, they would have a better program.  But will they?
