I don't know if this will help.....
You can set up two midi tracks and then in one show a treble clef only staff view. With a treble clef only staff there is no split point so you can enter low notes and they will be attached to the treble clef.
For the other midi track, show a bass clef only staff view. You can enter high notes in that track and they will be attached to the bass clef.
For printing, open the staff view for the first midi track and then pick both tracks for viewing and printing. All the notes stay associated with the clef you entered them into.
