Staff view now time selection

I am using Sonar Platinum.  When I am in the Staff View and I click on the time ruler, it selects about 5 measures worth of music (Sonar selects the now time plus about 5 measures ahead of the now time).  I just want to select the now time only.  How can I get Sonar to stop selecting 5 measures worth of music?

The timeline click is sensitive to position. If you click above the numbers, where the cursor turns into a downward-point arrow, SONAR will select multiple measures as you describe. If you click and drag in the same vertical position as the timeline numbers, you can select a specific amount of time.

A WORK AROUND: I see this is a fairly old post but I have been struggling with the same issue of selecting now time on Staff View without it selecting multiple measures.  I recently upgraded to Sonar Professional from Sonar 8 Producer and it was no problem in Sonar 8.  I discovered a quirky FIX last night quite by accident that allows me a work around.   I have Windows 7 64 bit with two monitors.  If I place STAFF View in the right monitor away from track view I can click to my heart's content on the staff time ruler and it will select the now time.  IF HOWEVER, it is docked under track view or floating on top of track view it is IMPOSSIBLE to select a now time on the staff time ruler. As much work as I do in STAFF view this is annoying but at least there is a work-around.
