Standard Sustain Pedal with the A-800 Pro?

How do I use a standard sustain pedal with the A-800 Pro. I tried plugging one in and it does not do anything. Anyone know how to set it up? thanks Mike

The action of the sustain pedal can be set up in the control map. I suspect you are using a control map where the sustain pedal is unassigned.

Forgive my ignorance with all of this (I'm a songwriter, not a programmer), but how does one actually "do" that?  Would it be in the Editor?

I'm using Sonar 8.5, with an a-800pro on an i7 machine similar to yours.

Thanks very much for your help.

    Bump.

I've got the same problem, but it only started as of switching from USB input to MIDI cables in the back of a Roland Quad-Capture. So I guess it's got something to do with that path. If I understand rickpuig here, he's probably using ACT like me, and you can't get to the control map like that. rickpuig, how are you connecting your keyboard to the computer?

I have the same problem. Sustain pedal does nothing in the Apro 300, and the editor does not make it easy to figure out what assignment to make for the pedal in the controller editor. There is nothing in the manual about it.

Still no solution found. A recall of all APro units may be in the works. No sustain pedal function has been found by anyone.

Here's the deal - when "no assign" is selected the port acts as a sustain pedal. Assigning it to something else is not necessary. But the pedal is still not functioning. Roland support is a bottomless pit of despair...so I have an email in to Sweetwater and when they tell me how to fix it I will pass it along.

I got it working by using the APro Editor. I just assigned the Hold (P1) as a channel message - Control Change - Midi Ch.1 - CC64 - Min 0 - Max 127 - Port 1 - Unlatch. I used Control map 19, a sustain pedal in "closed mode" and I have ACT on. If you have a sustain pedal in "open mode", I guess you have to switch the min and max values. And it worked :)

CC64 - that was the missing piece of the puzzle.  You're a champ.

I know this is an old thread but I just got the Roland DP-10 Damper Pedal for my A800 Pro and tried to set the Hold (P1) as you have instructed, but nothing seems to happen in logic. Is there something else that I need to do to make this work with Logic. Please help.
