Good atmospheric piece John. The slowly shifting chords from about 1:25 onwards were really excellent, and the pad sounds at the end are superb. Not sure about the drum box pattern tho, it seemed a little out of place without a bassline to keep it company.

Thanks James, I had considered a Bassline but none came to my furry paws. You never know something may appear.

    Hello Mister Wookiee ,
them furry paws are telling one hell of a story ...
Outstanding sounds and elements in more than a few places ..I enjoyed this a lot
the song was so powerful as it unfolded ...
I will admit to having mixed feelings about the drums , they seemed a little out of context to me ...
    yet, they weren't a deal breaker ….
I would have loved to hear some Hans Zimmer War drum type of sounds on this ...
we all hear things different ..as it was , I thought it was a great listen

I don't know whether it's the synths you use but you always seem to have great depth in your music. Agree with the comments about the drums, they don't seem to add to that depth.
There is a keenness in this piece that I really like.

Cool song , very well done. I too have mixed feelings about the drums. The whole piece has a Native American vibe to it but modernized so  I think it would sound cool with toms as the focus on the drums but that is just an opinion not neccesarrily a suggestion. I really like the tune and you did a great job on it.

This is quite a journey.  After the stormy beginning, it evolves into an intricate, but subtle tapestry of sound and music.  As for the drums, I thought that it was clever of you to use a kit that was out of the box for this type of music.  However, the same beats could support some ethnic drums, as well.  It's just a matter of what flavor you want.  No matter, high praise for this!

    All the best,

Thank you Robbie the flutes where tweaked pre-set's from a Mini V from Arturia and an Oboe from Dim pro.  As for misspelling standing stoned my experience of stoner's tends more to standing propped against something when stoned.

    Nice tune, Wookieester.

Re: the drums, the thing that stood out to me is that they seemed so dry for a very ambient piece.   Maybe some panning delay or a little verb for added depth?   Otherwise I love the synth work and the evolving melodies, especially the oboe-ish parts.

Sounds great John! Drums don't bother me either, but I think they could evolve and be enhanced by adding some emotive ethnic-sounding drumming, low, in the background. Think Peter Gabriel, but more subtle, lol...

Really nice piece though, and it is fine the way it is as well.

Cool sounds there wook my friend. I'm in agreement with the majority about the drums. I think that they are the wrong style or sound. Nothing wrong with the rest of it though. You have a knack for getting vast width and depth to your music.

Excellent production.  The arrangement and sounds are really good.  I like the drums and percussion because it gives dimension to the scene as they are more present.   I would look at moving the lead instruments back a touch after the drums come in and make 'em wet like you do at the end of the piece.

Thank you Steve for the listen and comment, I guess the delay on the drums is either to subtle or it is getting lost in conversion to MP3 perhaps I should post a wave version via box?

I just listened again, and it seems the snare and hihat have a very "rhythm machine" like thinness to them that stands out against the music which IMO is much more lush.    Perhaps a little layering with "rounder" tones and a dark reverb for more depth?

Thanks Jimmy glad you enjoyed my furry rambling.

    See I told you Robbie

Noted Mark, I will see about making a Wave file of this as for you as there is a real Bass rumble drone all through this that just goes phut in MP3
